The rain woke me up tonight
Screaming, pounding my brain
My eyes open, tired
My mind calling your name
Lighting strikes around me
Shaking me to the core
Thunder pulsing inside my veins
The sky begging for more
This storm is scary
So far away from you
So let me hear your voice
Just to get me through
The room lights up around me
Walls shaking to the floor
Back and forth this fight
But no ones keeping score
Rain fades away now
Quick and full of pain
I lay awake and cold
Not quite the same
Your voice is my safety
Something to hold onto
I wouldn't be here tonight
If it weren't all for you
You talk about evil
And danger that lives in the rain
Not knowing that you're slowly
Pushing away my pain
You joke and make me smile
Something I couldn't force
You have a strong ability
Of making me want more
You and I can tell
That baby I don't get you
But we know in my heart
That my love for you is true
